The Trustworthy AI Market Map is a highly collaborative ecosytem effort to identify and make visible the venture-backed companies building the infrastructure for more trustworthy AI.

The first edition maps 79 companies, from early stage through Series D+, representing more than $13.7 billion in disclosed capital raised across seven layers of the stack:

Identity + Authentication

Models

Orchestration + Interoperability

Data Agency + Memory

Guardrails

Evals

Applications

The premise is simple: demands for greater trust, agency, interoperability, transparency and control are becoming product requirements, and product requirements create markets.

The map shows where those markets are beginning to form, which companies are building them, and which investors are backing them. It is designed as a practical reference for LPs, VCs, founders, corporates, policymakers and other ecosystem actors trying to understand where value is emerging across the AI economy.

With more than 400 investors already backing companies on the map, the category is beginning to show meaningful commercial depth across 15 countries: Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, India, Israel, Japan, the Netherlands, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States.

The initiative was co-initiated by Paul Fehlinger and Douglas Sloan, with Krishna Desai providing operating support, and is convened with ImpactVC, Andaris, Omidyar Network, ReframeVenture, Mozilla, Norrsken and Seismic Foundation. Companies were surfaced with the support of nominating partners Benhamou Global Ventures (BGV), Bethnal Green Ventures, Eka Ventures, EQT Ventures, ex/ante, Founder Collective, Generation Investment Management, Giant Ventures, Halcyon Ventures, HV Capital, Juniper Ventures, Kapor Foundation, Katapult, Norrsken VC, Omidyar Network, Revent, SAIF and Sympatico Ventures, alongside additional market research and review against a common set of criteria.

Financial support has been provided by Kapor Foundation and Omidyar Network.

The map tracks companies across seven layers of the Trustworthy AI stack, reflecting where new infrastructure is emerging as AI systems become more agentic and more deeply embedded in organizations and everyday life. Together, these layers show how the opportunity is expanding beyond models alone, into identity, data, interoperability, evaluation, control and applications, and provide a practical way to see, compare and navigate this emerging market.
